MANAGEMENT OF   
HIGHER EDUCATION INTERNATIONALIZATION AND GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

Presentation

The UNESCO Chair Internationalization of Higher Education and Global Citizenship hosted by the University of Guadalajara (UdeG), the Mexican Association for International Education (AMPEI), and the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES) offer an online diploma on the Management of Higher Education Internationalization and Global Citizenship, adapted to the realities of the Latin American and Caribbean region; taught by world-renowned experts.

Objectives

This diploma program offers professional training and updates on the conception, design, development, and implementation of comprehensive and cross-cutting strategies and policies for the internationalization of higher education, integrated with the core functions of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region, in order to:

  •       Strengthen institutional capacity in managing a comprehensive internationalization process.

  •       Design strategies and identify best practices for developing a comprehensive internationalization process.

  •       Promote the development of education for sustainable development and education for global citizenship.

  •       Foster collaborative networks at the intra- and interregional levels.

Participants

The diploma program is offered to HEI staff in general and staff of International Offices, as well as academics and students in the field of higher education.

The minimum group size is 20 participants and the maximum is 40.

Academic Model 

The program is designed to be delivered 100% online. The content and materials are available on the UdeG Moodle platform. Participants attend synchronous online lectures and participate in asynchronous discussion forums.

The program will consist of a general introduction (3 hours); 11 modules totaling 121 hours, distributed as one module per week; and a final project on the design of an internationalization strategy for a higher education institution (30 hours). The diploma program will run from March 2 to May 29, 2026.
